Wang Kejing (b. 1993) currently lives and works in Quzhou, China. In 2018, she graduated from the MFA in Media Arts (Photography) program at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, U.S. Wang explores in her videos the at once tenuous and irreducible bonds between people who share moments of respite and conviviality. Her work often features a return to the natural, pristine landscape, and the characters interact with their surroundings in a seemingly detached manner, retaining a keen awareness of rapid urbanization and demolition for the betterment of social functioning. While Wang prizes visual continuity, albeit only in a casual sense, her imagery diffuses and is altogether a salute to life’s chance encounters, unanticipated reunions, and disruptions from a singular experience of time and space.
