Pierre Yves Clouin has been dedicated to filmmaking since 1995, based in Paris, with a background in architecture from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. His work has earned numerous awards, including the Silver Spire at the San Francisco International Film Festival and the Institut français residency.

His films have been shown at prominent festivals and venues worldwide, such as the San Francisco, Chicago, Thessaloniki, and Los Angeles International Film Festivals; Geneva Biennial of Moving Images; VideoBrasil; Sundance; Ars Electronica; BFI London; Oxford Modern Art; San Francisco Cinematheque; Paula Cooper Gallery in New York; the Guggenheim Bilbao; and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
